Beautiful and brainy, Katharine Hepburn was a strong
personality and a four time Academy award winning actress.
The daughter of wealthy parents, Katharine was the second of
six children. She accompanied her mother in campaigning for women’s right to
vote. She didn’t begin her acting career until she attended Bryn Mawr College. After
graduating with a degree in history, she spent four years working on Broadway
before she was noticed by Hollywood producers.
Her unconventional lifestyle in the 1940s as mistress to her
co-star Spencer Tracy led to her reputation as independent woman. She was named
top female Hollywood legend by the American Film Institute in 1999.
Kate Hepburn appeared in 44 films and eight tv movies. Many
of her films are now considered classics including Little Women, Guess Who’s
Coming to Dinner, African Queen, Morning Glory, On Golden Pond, Rainmaker and
Philadelphia Story, among others.

Kate's a legend. But somehow I prefer Cate Blanchett playing Kate.
God, she was stunning....
I like the comedies that she and Tracy did together, especially the one where she plays the librarian and he is a computer consultant. The size of that computer is hilarious. Right now, my favorite movie with her is "Summertime".

Phenomenal body of work!!
Excellent K choice. A pretty and wonderful actress. My sister is a big fan of hers and I've seen a couple of her movies.
Ahh... The Great Kate. She was beautiful--and I admired her. My favorite of all of her movies was "The Corn is Green." actually made for TV--not the big screen. 1979.
The years fly by. :-)
Good post!
