Young lovers realize that they can’t be together until
Westley can support them. He leaves to find his fortune. When she’s waited five
years for Westley’s return, Buttercup thinks Westley has died. She agrees to
marry the prince.
The prince is a scoundrel. He wants to go to war with a
neighboring state. He decides to sacrifice Buttercup by having her kidnapped
and killed. He will take his revenge by invading the neighboring kingdom.
Thankfully, the prince hired low-cost bad-guys Vizzini,
Fezzik and Inigo Montoya. He gets what he paid for, they fail in the plot.
Westley, now known as the Dread Pirate Roberts saves the Princess as well as
the day. Almost everyone lives happily ever after.
